Is Singapore EP Free Position Feasible? Is It Reliable?
I often see posts about EP free positions, and I'm amazed ❗️ these people are so bold
Singapore's laws have always been strict. Doing illegal things in Singapore?!
⚠️The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has penalty cases in the news almost every month.
⚠️Let me tell you clearly! Singapore EP free positions violate the Singapore Employment of Foreign Manpower Act!
❓What is an EP free position? It means attaching your EP pass to a company without actually going to work there, just to get an EP to live in Singapore, or even relying on this company background to apply for permanent residence in the future.

What situations are illegal?
1. Using a company to apply for an EP on your behalf, then not going to work after it's issued - even if they pay you a salary, it's still illegal.
2. Paying money to buy shares in the company, becoming a shareholder, getting an EP but not going to work - if the purpose is still to get an EP and apply for permanent residence in the future, it's equally illegal. The MOM news center has similar cases.
3. The company arranges for you to get an administrative staff pass at Company A, but you actually work at nightclubs every day - also illegal.
4. Making it look very real, receiving salary as usual, just not going to work - illegal!
But they say: If you don't tell and I don't tell, who will know?!
❗️Don't you know that Singaporeans love to report violations?!
The company's finance, HR admin, and boss have some conflicts, and they casually report it, sending both the boss and you to jail
The correct approach
1. Find a genuine job and apply for an EP honestly. (Legal)
2. Set up a self-employment EP properly, running your own company. (Legal)
These two approaches - choose the appropriate option based on your own conditions. Don't think about speculation - speculation has risks!
