Singapore DP Dependant's Pass Application Guide
DP Application Requirements:
The Dependant's Pass is applicable to spouses and unmarried children under 21 years old of Employment Pass (EP), EntrePass, or Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) holders. The main applicant must have a monthly salary of at least S$6,000 and hold a qualifying pass.
Required Documents for DP Application:
You need the following documents to apply for a DP Dependant's Pass:
- Copy of the applicant's passport personal particulars page.
- For children sharing a passport with parents, the parents' personal particulars page must also be submitted.
Depending on the family member you are applying for, you may need to submit additional documents:

DP Application Process:
The application process is mainly submitted by the employer or authorized agent through the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) online application system. The entire process typically includes the following steps:
- Submit DP Application: The employer submits the application through the MOM website and pays the fees.
- DP Review and Approval: MOM will review the submitted documents, typically taking 3 weeks for approval.
- Receive Results: After approval, the applicant can collect the Dependant's Pass.
DP Validity Period and Renewal:
The validity period of the Dependant's Pass aligns with the main applicant's Employment Pass, typically 1 to 2 years. For renewal, applications should be submitted at least 6 months before the pass expires. Renewal conditions typically remain unchanged, and some documents need to be resubmitted.
Work Rights for DP Holders:
If DP holders wish to work in Singapore, they can obtain an Employment Pass (EP), S Pass, or Work Permit (WP). The prospective employer must submit the application on their behalf, and the relevant qualifying salary, quota, and levy requirements for each work pass apply.
Eligible DP holders who wish to run a business can apply for the Business Owner Consent Letter for DP Holders (for DPs starting a business in Singapore).
Special Considerations:
- If the main applicant changes employers, the DP status will be affected and requires reapplication.
- If the DP expires without renewal, the holder must leave the country.
